Film making with young people and community groups

We have built a strong reputation for film making with young people and community groups. Our work generally results in high quality films, which reflect the group’s voice, experience and concerns and can be effective ‘peer-education’ tools.

Programmes can be designed to – through the film making process – also achieve other objectives, such as personal development, group cohesion and behavioural change.

All our programmes are tailor-made, whether it’s a one-off workshop, teacher training session or residential weekend, or a structured series of sessions aiming to create a specific film about a specific subject, with a specific group of people.

We work closely with you to find the approach that suits your objectives and your budget, meets the group’s needs and requirements and creates the best possible conditions to make the film you want to make.

We bring in equipment for the group to work with and give all the training and supervision needed. If you want, we can help with research, script-writing, storyboarding, acting, location finding, music score, prop-making and design.

We work with primary and secondary school groups of all ages and ability levels, with ‘at-risk’ young people and adults, and with individuals with special needs, behavioural issues or learning difficulties.

All our sessions are delivered by experienced, enhanced DBS/CRB-checked, film makers, under the creative direction of Han Duijvendak and Jane Duckworth, who are experts at guiding a group in producing a film which surpasses expectations.

We are an Artsmark Partner.
This means that we offer bespoke film making activities to Artsmark settings, which comply with the Artsmark Code of Practice and incorporate the seven Artsmark Quality Principles.
