Who we are

Han Duijvendak

Producer – creative director – editor – tutor

Han is a Dutch-trained child-psychologist who morphed into a theatre and film director. He came to Britain in 1980 and directed some 30 productions at Liverpool Everyman, Century Theatre, Dukes Lancaster and freelance. In 1998 he got bitten by the film making bug, producing documentaries for ITV Granada, Channel 4 and FIVE, and never looked back. He leads all our video production work and involves himself often also very hands-on.

Jane Duckworth

DOP – camera woman – director – tutor

After starting as and actress and dancer, Jane has built a thriving freelance career as a camera operator and film maker in the North West and has been HANDSTAND’s regular DOP and camera tutor since 2000.

Joanne McMahon

Now buildings manager for Annexe Inc

Joanne has now left us and is working as Buildings Manager for our sister company Annexe Inc – in which job she still looks after our office on Hope Street, alongside many others.

Nick Stanley

Finance director – film finance consultant – production accountant – producer

Nick worked as a Theatre Manager – Everyman, Liverpool, then Production Accountant – Queer as Folk, Merseybeat and a long list of feature films. He is currently on the Board of Toxteth TV and involved in many other artistic and creative enterprises.
